I finally got around to finishing some more pictures from our Birubi Beach christmas holidays! (Yes, it’s been that long!)
In this set, I feature some beautiful sunset photos taken on December 30th, 2008. Living on the East coast, I never get to see the Sun setting over the ocean. But due to the curving around of the headland, at Birubi Beach in summer it is possible!
Jacob and I went down to the beach to watch and photograph the Sunset – him with my old Sony Cybershot, and me with my Canon 350D. It was great spending the time together, wandering the coastline and climbing over the rocks, looking for the perfect shot.
The photo above is a 4-image panorama, and each image is a 3-frame HDR. The image is available for purchase on RedBubble.
Please continue reading to see more beautiful sunset images from Birubi Beach.
All of the images below are also 3-frame HDR shots, bracketed with -2/0/+2 exposure compensation.
Click each image to see a larger 1200px ~450kb version.
All of the HDR shots were tone-mapped using Photomatix, and had final processing done in Photoshop.
The panorama was assembled using AutoPano Pro.
Thanks for looking, I hope you enjoyed them.

Great shots Mike !
I especially like your 2nd shot, the way the light is reflecting off the water and the colour in the sky is beautiful.
Thanks very much, Jared. (sorry for my late reply on this). I appreciate your comments.
Hi Mike, Great pics – especially the top panorama 4 image one. We have a weekender up at Birubi and this would look great on the wall. Can we purchase this image from you – I couldn’t see it on RedBubble. Many thanks, Sally
Hi Sally, thanks for your comments. It’s such a beautiful place up there – we’re heading up there again this christmas, so I hope to do some more photography while we’re there.
I can upload this pic to Red Bubble – I’ll let you know when it’s done. Probably won’t be until after the weekend though sorry.
Cheers and thanks.
Hi Sally
The image is now available on Red Bubble. Thanks!
