The Night Sky over Kioloa Beach

Our family christmas holidays in 2011 took us to Kioloa Beach, a nice remote stretch of coast about half an hour outside Bateman’s Bay on the South Coast of NSW.

On the last morning of 2011, I headed out early to capture some images of Comet Lovejoy and the night sky over Kioloa Beach. Here are the first of the shots.

On a few of the shots, I sat as still as possible. It feels like I’m waiting for the clouds to part above me :)

And this last one is a bit of fun. My Karate dojo is running a small competition to take a photo of ourselves training over the xmas break – so I held this pose for 51 seconds while I captured the night sky above me :)

Thanks for looking. There’ll be more shots from the Kioloa Beach series coming soon.
