Pre-Dawn Star Trails at Killcare Beach

In 2012, I want to do some more photography – especially in the lead up to my holiday to Cairns and Uluru in November. And I’m off to a nice start, with some star trails captured in the pre-dawn sky at Killcare Beach on the NSW Central Coast.

This is 1 hour worth of exposure (3:30am – 4:30am), captured with a Canon 40D, 24-105mm lens, 5 minute exposures @ ISO400, f/4.0.

The images were cleaned up for noise using Topaz De-Noise, stacked using StarStax and final processing for colour/saturation/contrast in Photoshop.

The sunrise itself was stunning, and more images from that session are coming soon!

Thanks for looking, comments welcome.
