This is a deep image of part of the Scorpius constellation towards the centre of our Milky Way galaxy.
The bright yellow star to the left is Antares, the heart of the scorpion, and is part of the Rho Ophiuchi cloud complex.
It’s a single 2 minute exposure with the Canon 5DMk2, 50mm lens @ f/2.0, ISO3200, tracked using the Polarie. The 50mm lens has some coma and warped stars at f/2.0 and really needs to be stopped down more to clean them up.
Quite happy with how this turned out for a single exposure. Processed for contrast and saturation, which is obviously my taste at the moment.
Thanks for looking.
