Chris Go is one of the world’s best planetary imagers. He lives in the Phillipines – a location fortunate enough to have extremely steady skies almost every clear night. Of course he loses several months a year due to typhoons and tropical storms, but when it’s clear, he captures some brilliant images.
Yesterday was no exception, as he captured a stunning image and animation of Saturn with Titan right at the end of its transit.

Thanks Chris for capturing such beautiful photos of this event. The February 24 transit is the next opportunity, and Chris reports that a team have won time on the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) to image Saturn during a rare quadruple transit, featuring Titan, Mimas, Dione and Enceladus all crossing Saturn’s disc at the same time!
I can’t wait to see the results of that!
