This is it! The last of my Sydney at Dawn series, this photo was taken on the morning of the 13th May from Observatory Hill, looking over towards North Sydney. Watching the Sydney Harbour Bridge transform from night into day is quite a sight; in the pre-dawn night, it’s mostly quiet – only a few cars, and the glowing lights on the bridge and pilons stand out against the dark sky. As dawn approaches, the sky brightens, the number of cars on the bridge increase and soon the hustle and bustle of the city take over from the tranquil scene only 30 minutes before. Continue reading

On May 13th 2011, the closest alignment of the conjunction of Venus, Mercury, Mars and Jupiter got lots of media attention. I was even interviewed for the local paper!
